Math is fun! Above all else, students need to enjoy and see the everyday need for Math. It is important for students to have opportunities to experiment and play with mathematical ideas in an environment that is non-threatening. When given these kinds of opportunities, students become mathematical thinkers willing to take educational chances. These students are good problem solvers not only in the classroom but in the real world as well.
A Texas A&M graduate, I have lived in Mason for 22 years and have been teaching for 26 years. I am married to Troy, and we have two children, Price and Ryli. Price recently graduated from Texas A&M with a degree in Animal Science and will be applying to vet school this fall, and Ryli is a freshman at Sam Houston State where she is working on a degree in Biomedical Science. My family runs a small ranch, raising show lambs for 4-H and FFA students.
