Mrs. Jacki “Mae” Maenius has lived in Puncher Country for thirty years. She has worked at MISD for a total of fifteen years. Both of her children, Jena (2004) and Jake (2007), graduated from MHS and are proud Puncher graduates. Randy, her husband, is the director of the Farm Service Agency for Mason and Llano counties. The only “children” now living at her home are furry, walk on four legs and are spoiled rotten!
Mrs. Mae loves reading captivating books, plays and poetry, learning about the diversity of the world and other lives through them. Everyone will learn this year, including Mrs. Mae who is a life-long learner. She is thrilled that we are now offering theatre for our junior high students.
Mrs. Mae will again be directing the One Act Play at the high school. Mason High School has won four State Championships (1966, 2014, 2015, 2016)! Mason has qualified for the State Finals six years in a row. Her passion for theatre is in rooted in elementary school where she played the role of Aunt Polly in the sixth grade musical production of “Tom Sawyer.” In a former school, she and her students also won the UIL 3A State One Act Play Championship in 2013. Mrs. Mae is a firm believer in setting the bar high and working hard to meet goals whether it is in extra-curricular or academic activities. In addition to coaching high school UIL, Mrs. Maenius will coach speaking events in the junior high during the fall. Mrs. Mae looks forward to getting to know her students, setting goals, and with diligence, reaching them together. It will be another good year to be a Puncher!
