I am so happy to be here in Mason and to have the opportunity to teach Mason ISD students. Although I did not grow up here, I have a rich family heritage in Mason and I spent many happy vacations as a child on my grandparents ranch. My roots are in this community and it is great to be back!
I have been working in education for 28 years. During that time, I have been a Spanish Teacher, a Bilingual Teacher and an ESL Teacher. More recently I have served as a Principal and district administrator. I have taught in both Elementary and Secondary levels and I love both! I earned my B.A. in Comparative Literature from The University of the South and my M.A. in Foreign Language Education from The University of Texas. I have worked in four Texas school districts: Mason, Marble Falls, Manor and Austin. I also have experience in a private school, a charter system and an ESL Institute in Washington, DC.
I have two grown children, Sophie and Ned. Sophie is a graduate of New York University. She served in the Peace Corps after graduation and currently teaches 6th grade ELA in Los Angeles. Ned graduated from Johns Hopkins University in Baltimore and is working on his Doctoral Degree in Minnesota.
