Are you ready? The first day of school is Tuesday, August 21ST! For all of our returning students, the paperwork for registration will be submitted on-line. This is an easy, two-step process designed to save you time. No more filling out pages and pages of information! The computer lab at Mason High School will be open Aug. 8TH from 8:00 - 6:00 for any parents who would like assistance. Translators will be available. We strongly encourage all paperwork to be submitted on or before August 8th.
Step 1: Parents will log into their Parent Portal accounts using the enclosed log-in and password information. Parents will review the information we have on file and make any necessary changes. If you do not see a blue “edit” button next to your child’s name, it means we do not have your email address in our software system. Please email firstname.lastname@example.org from the account you will use and tell us your name and your child’s name. We will update the system, and you may continue.
Step 2. Parents & students will log onto the Mason ISD Parent Consent & Policy Page and review the statements and reference materials in the Student Handbook and fill out the consent form & McKinney Vento form. These forms can be filled out online and then printed. (Forms are available at the high school office if you would rather come pick them up.) Parents and students must sign the forms & turn in at registration on August 8th.
Forms for free & reduced lunch still need to be filled out by hand and turned in at registration. Please fill these out if you think you will qualify. Even if your child does not eat in the cafeteria, you will still be eligible for waivers that will allow your child to take the SAT and ACT for free & will eliminate application fees when applying for college. It will save several hundred dollars!
ALL STUDENTS WILL REGISTER ON WEDNESDAY, AUGUST 8TH. Students must be in compliance with all dress code requirements. Students will turn in their registration forms, check out and cover their textbooks and have their school pictures made. Technology devices will be issued to students who have paid their $20 insurance fees and whose parents have completed the on-line registration paperwork and turned in the Parent/Student Consent and Policy Acknowledgment forms. All students will take their school pictures on this day. You do not have to purchase photos, but you must have your picture taken. Please dress appropriately & be in compliance with dress code. (Formal senior pictures will be taken on Nov. 19th.)
We will hold New Student Orientation for freshmen and all students new to MHS, along with their parents, in the auditorium beginning at 5:30 pm on August 15th. This is a very important meeting & we strongly encourage your attendance. We’ll share our expectations and procedural information with you, and we welcome your input & questions.
Another upcoming event at Mason High School is for seniors and their parents. College Night will be August 22nd at 6:30 pm in the high school auditorium.We will go through the handbooks and discuss planning for life after high school. Important topics will include resume writing, essay writing and college & scholarship applications. This meeting is critical for seniors and their parents!

Reminder! Dual credit tuition for students taking classes through Central Texas College is due first week of school. Students will receive an invoice for tuition later in the semester for TSTC classes. ASU Classes are free! All registration forms (paper and online) must be completed in order for students to be registered through the college. This applies to TSTC, CTC and ASU.
