This year 6th grade band will be much different than it was in 5th! We will all be in one class but will spend a lot of early time split up with our different instrument groups. However we will soon start working on playing together as an ensemble. Our goal is to concentrate early on becoming better individual players and then focus on becoming better as an ensemble. At the end of the year we plan to go perform at a festival in Ballinger and then also play at our Spring Concert. If you have any questions please contact us.

6th Grade Main Objectives:
Understand and execute music theory concepts.
Improve sound quality and performance skills.
Understand and notate a note-rest pyramid.
Notate, count, clap and analyze rhythms.
Identify the names of lines and spaces as well as the order of #'s and b's.
Improve sight reading skills as an individual player and as an ensemble.
Name and perform all 5-note & full scales.
