Back in 2016, the University of Interscholastic League decided to begin offering the opportunity for cheerleading teams across the state to display their sideline activities in a competitive environment. The competition consists of four different sections: Fight Song, Crowd Leading (Cheer), Band Dance, and Game Day Championships (overall). During each section, you have one minute to display how you get your crowd involved during football games. The teams are expected to cover a 54' section and use their high energy, callouts, signs, stunts, jumps, and standing tumbling to get crowd involvement. Points are totaled during the preliminary round of the Band Chant, Cheer, and Fight Song sections individually to determine who qualifies for finals. All three sections are performed simultaneously to determine the Game Day Champion.
