ASU First for first Generation College Students is Wednesday, February 7th! Bus leaves student parking lot at 7:30!


Attention Seniors:

In order to fill out the FAFSA, you will need the following items:

  • Your FSA ID Number - apply on-line
  • Your Parent's FSA ID Number
  • Driver’s License #
  • Social Security #
  • Tax information or tax return that was filed last April
  • Record of untaxed income such as social security or welfare benefits
  • Information on savings, investments, farm & business assets


If you are going to major in an ag related field, fill out the Capital Farm Credit Scholarship application. It's on my website under "local scholarships."

Students: Be careful with your iPads. If you remove your screen cover, you will pay a penalty.

Stay organized. The spring semester is jam packed with extra-curricular activities. Please pay attention to your schedule. Use the calendar app on your iPad. If you double book yourself and sign up for a UIL event and then back out, you will be charged for the entry fee.


 ~UIL ACADEMICS - The sign ups have begun.  Please see the teacher in charge of the event in which you would like to participate.

Students must participate in 2 meets to meet the requirements.  There may be an option of participating in an online meet.

Remember:  You must participate in UIL ACADEMICS to take part in NHS.


The scholarships at Howard Payne University are amazing! You can be awarded $52,000 if you meet the automatic admission requirements. This means, if you have a "B" average and scored at least 19 on the ACT and 910 on the SAT, you can be automatically admitted, and you will get the scholarship! That's an amazing opportunity! there are many more scholarships available to students who score higher and have a higher class rank (top 10% and top 20%.)

Click here for a link to a site that has hundreds of scholarship applications. Remember how I was tellling you that there are many scholarships that are never awarded because no one applies? So, APPLY!

Northwest Lineman Training Center

This is a training program in Denton, Texas for students who want to become electrical linemen.

The clock is ticking on applytexas!

Many colleges have a December 1st deadline for scholarship applications. This means you must have submitted your entire application, including essays, to be eligible for institutional scholarships. Other colleges have December 15, January 15th and February 15th deadlines. See the college website or applytexas for more details about your college.


The University of Chicago is recruiting students through its Small Schools Talent Search. They will waive the $75 application fee for students from Mason High School who apply. Use the Common Application at the link below. Click on "Fee Waiver Request" and then select "other." No other documentation is required.
