CTEC awards 25 $1,000 scholarships to students whose primary residence is served by CTEC. Applicants must have two letters of recommendation from school personnel. Mrs. Canfield will email it to you when it is made available.
Central Texas College Scholarship If you are going to take on-line classes from Central Texas College next year, you are eligible for a scholarship. There will be one recipient from MHS. The scholarship is for tuition for 12 hours, about $2,900. To apply, turn in a general scholarship application with CTC Scholarship on the title line.
Central Texas Master Gardeners - $1000 scholarship to graduating seniors in our area who are planning to pursue a degree in an agriculture related field. This would include, but not be limited to, fields such as horticulture, plant and soil science, range management, agriculture education, natural resource management, animal science, and wildlife management.

This is not a local scholarship, but the application is available here. Mrs. Janice Marie Scott (nee: Holmes) was a victim of the attacks by terrorists on September 11, 2001. She was among the 125 individuals that were killed in the Pentagon when terrorists took over and crashed American Airlines Flight 77 into that building on the morning of September 11, 2001. As a result, the family members of Mrs. Scott created the Janice M. Scott Memorial Scholarship Fund in October 2001 to honor her legacy. You must attend a four year college or university and have demonstrated leadership abilities through participating in community services, extra curricular or other activities.
Scholarship Rules and Regulations:
For a student who will attend Texas A & M. Awarded on the basis of academic achievement and involvement in school and community activities. Financial need is considered but not necessarily the determining factor. Google the application.

The year 2012 marks the nineteenth time that the Texas Medical Association’s Young Physician Section will award its rural science scholarship. This $1,000 award is given to a rural Texas high school senior who excels in science, for use toward continuing his or her education in the field of medicine. Applications must be postmarked by and sent via mail to: Texas Medical Association, YPS Coordinator, 401 West 15th Street, Austin, TX 78701. The scholarship winner will be notified by mail in March and is expected to attend the TexMed Conference in Dallas on May 18th to receive his or her award (travel assistance is available).
MidCoast Health Systems Scholarship - for students entering health care field
$500 Scholarship Due March 21st
PEC is now accepting applications for our Scholarship Program! To qualify, high school seniors must have a parent or a legal guardian who is a PEC member in good standing. This year, a total of $100,000 in scholarships will once again be distributed to students throughout our service area. Applicants will be required to complete an application and submit an essay written for the following topic:
“How would a PEC Scholarship help you achieve your educational and career goals?”

Must have played two sports and parent/guardian must be a current member of Puncher Club to be eligible to apply for this scholarship.

Must attend the University of Texas at Austin to receive the funds. They will be paid directly to the UT financial aid office. Turn in to Mrs. Canfield. Due April 1.
For students who will major in one of the following fields of study: history, government, library science or education. Deadline is May 1st, 2009. See Mrs. Canfield for a copy of the application.
This year we again offer three types of scholarships:
-Students from Texas Hill Country Counties pursuing a degree in Agriculture
-Students from throughout Texas who participated in the Make It With Wool Contest. (This scholarship was awarded in January, in conjunction with the American Sheep Industry Convention held in San Antonio)
-Students from throughout Texas who are the son or daughter of a Texas State Trapper. They do need to be accepted to a College, University, or Trade school, but do not need to major in Agriculture.
Time is valuable to students and teachers alike, and the Committee strives to make the application process as simple as possible. All required documentation, including transcripts, must be submitted by mail at the same time, and must be received by April 15, 2017. Any incomplete entries, or those received after April 15 will not be considered.
This is a highly competitive scholarship contest, with awards ranging from $250 to $2000 per student. The application includes some questions reflecting financial need, but it is most important to stress that the awards will be based on the Committee's impression of each student as presented by their written essays. References submitted with the application will be contacted for verification.
